Git installation is pretty straightforward; just head on to the site and install it according to your OS. It has no prerequisites. Make sure that you also have your Git Bash with the bundle. Git Bash is basically a terminal that is a bit personalized for Git. Windows users are recommended to use it over your cmd/powershell. Although the VSCode terminal is also very supportive.

Bonus fact: I wanted the 'app' ( to allow the HTTP method to be set to anything, which meant I needed a server that could accept anything.

I usually use NodeJS, but it turns out the HTTP library they use turns the HTTP method into an enum, so only a subset is supported ( This restriction only exists in their HTTP/1 library, their HTTP/2 library supports any method.

Anyway, I couldn't use that, so I used Deno via Deno Deploy. Their HTTP library supports any method, and the APIs they use are very similar to web APIs, so it was really easy to get started. Here's the server code:

You will also need the Rust toolchain and NPM installed. The Rust toolchain is installed using the rustup interactive installer. The default options during installation should be fine. After installation you will need to install the wasm32-unknown-unknown build target for the Rust toolchain (rustup toolchain install wasm32-unknown-unknown).

    ship of Node:

Linux: No copyright assignment, just a compatible license required:

The CNCF and the kubernetes system does do a CLA, so it's not a concept the Linux foundation has never heard of it, but clearly it's not required for every project they support.

See also SPI's stance, which provides the legal support for projects like Debian and Arch Linux:

  • LAMP is dead! Long live (Perl) web frameworks! | 2021-10-05
JavaScript/Node.js options dominated the four-letter acronyms as expected, but the fifth one surprised me: LAMP, the combination of the Linux operating system, Apache web server, MySQL relational database, and Perl, PHP, or Python programming languages. A quick web search for similar lists yielded similar results. Clearly, this meme (in the Dawkins sense) has outlasted its popularization by tech publisher O’Reilly in the 2000s.
