Visual cues are a much better idea, thanks! Unfortunately, I don't know how to do that in ggplot2, either (I created these figures in R).

For some of your annotations, you might consider looking at the ggtext package. Dealing with deparse and bquote can get unwieldy. It's certainly not easy to read. ggtext simplifies some of that.

Great to hear that you liked it. I used the ggplot2 package in the R programming language for the basic plot, and then I used the ggtext package to display the club flairs.
