Divvy / GTile like behavior
Gnome has an awesome plugin called gTile, and for Windows/Mac there is a very similar plugin known as Divvy Is there anything similar available for AwesomeWM?

Best TWM for beginner?
If you're using Gnome, one alternative I'd offer is gTile. It's a Gnome extension that gets you some decent tiling features, including aesthetic gaps.

gTile stopped working with the last update
gTile v49 (released yesterday) introduces a breaking change from 0-indexed tile co-ordinates to 1-indexed, and this will break any custom co-ordinates (yes, it's kinda annoying). You can read about it in the release notes (v50 was released soon after this so be sure to read the v49 notes).

What’s your workstation look like?
I recently switched my main desk to a 49" curved ultra-wide 32:9 (G9 Odyssey 240Hz) and am a total convert. I like it so much better than dual monitors. I generally use it as functionally 3 monitors, the "center" being about half the total screen space, and the two side areas being 1/4 of the total. For windows I use Fancy Zones and for Linux I use gTile to easily move apps and windows to their desired positions. I have yet to find a good solution for Mac. I use a high-end KVM switch to handle the 5120x1440 resolution.

Switching from Windows 10/11 to Linux. I have a few questions.
https://github.com/Fmstrat/wintile As far as the second one, should be built-in. Also you'll probably start getting more used to working in a terminal where launching apps is just typing the name much like this provides.

Looking for a FancyZones-like tiling manager for Linux
This Gnome extension has some of what you want, but no stacking and no specifying positions for certain programs.

Help an i3wm user migrate the workflow to Gnome Shell
and that's pretty much it. Now that I have an ultrawide monitor i use the wintile extension to rearrange windows (if you're on gnome 40, use the code from this pr: https://github.com/Fmstrat/wintile/pull/60 )
What are some alternatives?
