How is Volta different from fnm?

* FNM: https://fnm.vercel.app/
I started with NVM, which is so slow that I'm confused (and maybe even impressed) as to how it's possible to be so slow.
Then I switched to FNM, which is delightfully not-slow.
Then I switched to Volta, because it supports installing standalone "tools" other than just Node, like Yarn and the various LSP servers that I use.
I tried N but don't use it. It seems to have a more "interactive" UI than FNM or Volta, so use N if you like that kind of thing.8 projects | news.ycombinator.com | 22 Nov 2021
I asked #node.js on libera, and they put me `fnm` , after being finally being fed up with how slow `nvm` was--haven't noticed any differences other than now things have been really fast.

Author here. A few other Rust projects to note that I didn't mention in the original post I've since found:
- Boa (JS engine in Rust) – https://github.com/boa-dev/boa
- RSLint (JS/TS linter in Rust) – https://github.com/rslint/rslint
- Node version manager in Rust – https://github.com/Schniz/fnm
If you know of any other popular ones, let me know. I'm keeping a list :)

snm v0.7.0: A completely revamped node version manager
I've been using fnm for a good while now. Also written in Rust, also cross-platform, also super fast. I've been pretty happy with it. I've never tried snm - are there any particular benefits?

A little bit of background, snm aka Smol Node Manager is a node version manager and also my first rust project which I started to learn rust. From the early days, It was similar to fnm (another node version manager) from which I borrowed most of the code but with some new subcommands and features ie. reading version from package.json. But, now I can say that It is completely a new program.

To be successful in this tutorial, you should have Node.js installed on your machine. These days, I recommend using either nvm or fnm to manage Node.js versions.
