In the Flame discussions page, there is a request for 3D, and Flame developers write that they will be happy to start working on support once when Impeller is stable on most major platforms. So what can the community do? 1) Create discussion topics, just like these posts. Or in other discussion forums. 2) Learn about Impeller, Filament, Flame, and Flutter and be willing to contribute to their development. 3) Join Flame now and try to do something or contribute. 4) Study the implementation of Flutter 3D, and try to do something together with ARCore or ARKit plugins.

What game engine to use for a 2D interface only game
I'd recommend Flutter for this. It's already a UI framework, highly portable (Android, iOS, Windows, Linux, macOS, and web so far), very easy to do custom UI in, and if you do end up needing a game engine, you can embed Flame as a widget anywhere in the UI.

You could write your own bash script or CLI to help manage these tasks. However, this costs you some time. In order to deal with these tasks more quickly, you can use community tools, like Melos, Very Good CLI, or Sidekick. In this article, we are going to use Melos. Melos is also used by repositories like FlutterFire, AWS Amplify (Flutter), Flame, and Plus Plugins.

There is the `sealed` class modifier which allows for exhaustive matching on possible types: https://dart.dev/language/class-modifiers#sealed
There's also a package called freezed which offers similar utility (you might already be familiar with this seeing as you mentioned pattern matching): https://pub.dev/packages/freezed
I recall there being a reason unions aren't generally implemented, though I'm not sure where I read it. It was to do with union types being unnecessarily complex for the compiler and the code they tend to produce, at no real benefit to the programmer or the resulting program. Go's lack of unions is essentially based around the same reasoning.

I would suggest showing an example like that at the top of the main Readme and first page of the site, before or right after the motivation section, similar to how Freezed immediately shows its value proposition.

What were your problems with it? I found it to be basically typescript, but without javascript's awful baggage and no union types, which is fixable with https://pub.dev/packages/freezed
