Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.
ESP-01 I2C Arduino slave

In general, it is easier to go the esphome.io (or the corresponding GitHub page) and search for your components (if you know them) than to search via Google.
Porting USB applications to the web. Part 1: libusb

ESPHome uses WebSerial to flash microcontrollers via the browser, saving the user from having to install a whole development environment and whatnot to do the initial firmware upload.
Super slick from a user POV, just connect the device via USB cable and hit the flash button. I admit I was a bit skeptical to all this, but having just tried it I must admit it was very, very convenient.
Using a rechargeable drill battery to power LED strips for closet lighting?

Bonus: I'd like to add in an ESP8266 chip like a wemos D1 mini using ESPHome (https://esphome.io/) to connect the whole thing to my Home Assistant, but that's really not necessary.
I got my dongle connected to wifi, how to I do anything with it?

Non-product Plug-in recommendation?

In my case, I am using a button wired to an ESP-01S microcontroller board instead of something like a Flic button or Aqara switch. I generated firmware for the ESP-01S using ESPHome.
Coin operated Ceiling train

I’ve recently been building a lot of things with little esp32 microcontrollers running tasmota or ESPhome. It’s really easy and can be really point and click with HA integration.
esp32 with RFID reader

See https://esphome.io/ with https://esphome.io/components/binary_sensor/rc522.html being one example.
RaspberryPI4 vs Arduino?
1 project | reddit.com/r/homeautomation | 10 Jan 2022
Others have suggested Home Assistant. That will run on a Raspberry Pi 4 and would be an excellent starting point. For building your own sensors, take a look at https://esphome.io/ - this works with Home Assistant and allows you to build your own sensors (and output devices) using the inexpensive NodeMCU Esp8266 modules.

If you want to go custom wireless i really would recomend to take a look at esphome. Some of those tuya abominations are also flashable with custom firmware to make them local.
Open source hot tub controller project

Also, time to consider integrating it into ESPHome so the hot tub is just one more Home Assistant enabled devices...
ZigBee-RF USB bridge for Mi-Light White?
1 project | reddit.com/r/GLEDOPTO_Support | 19 Jan 2022
If someone could specifically confirm/deny that the Gledopto bridge works with White bulbs would be great. People have created custom controllers for the White bulbs/remotes (e.g., here) - so I assume the protocol is known or the same.
Stuck on finding an RGB+CCT controller that works with Home Assistant and physical remote

Before binning off the Milight controller perhaps try this open source hub: https://github.com/sidoh/esp8266_milight_hub
Can anyone help me?

Anyone can help me?
1 project | reddit.com/r/homeassistant | 31 Jan 2021
However I'd recomend against doing that instead ditch the hub and replace it with this https://github.com/sidoh/esp8266_milight_hub1 project | reddit.com/r/smarthome | 31 Jan 2021
I can totally recommend this replacement bridge: https://github.com/sidoh/esp8266_milight_hub
