discord.py bots
Pycord is a bad fork in my opinion. I recommend using discord.py until it's entirely dead and then switching to enhanced-discord.py (Or switching to it right now). You can get slash commands with discord.py using slash_util. You can also switch to a completely different Python Discord API wrapper, like hikari.

I want to learn how to make bots.
enhanced-discord.py is a neat alternative to discord.py. And is what I use for python development. But yes, discord.js is a great place to start!

So Discord.py is dead
I am currently gonna use discord.py unless there is a breaking change, if there is I'd switch to enhanced-dpy since that is the only one that wasn't created just after the discontinuation and I've been seeing that fork for a long time now and it has some good features already

Making bump reminder bot
Disnake | Docs | A fork that I personally use and prefer. Has a lot of extra features, like raw components (not requiring views to use and manage components (buttons, selects, etc). Quickly becoming less of a fork and more of it's own, "inspired-by" the original.

Is there a way to accept an input from discord?
I would agree with /u/Nightcorex_ in that a Discord Bot is the way to go here. Definitely possible and I wouldn't even say it's exceptionally difficult if you have a basic understanding of Python and can follow some tutorials on discord bots. However the official discord.py is no longer being actively maintained as far as I'm aware. There are several forks floating around out there. The one I've heard the most good things about is Disnake https://github.com/DisnakeDev/disnake but full disclosure I have never used it myself. I haven't worked on any bots since discord.py shut down.
