  • Ruby 3.1.1 Released

Submitted a PR to www.ruby-lang.org. https://www.ruby-lang.org is in fact a giant Jekyll website on GitHub and you can submit PRs to fix typos, etc.

    Yes you can: https://github.com/ruby/www.ruby-lang.org/pull/2795
  • Ruby removed “Participants will be tolerant of opposing views” from its CoC

But they did not remove it it's still in there https://github.com/ruby/www.ruby-lang.org/pull/2690/files#diff-bc06027e8236e608ab690a75268f3d8499189e961a4bb7d42cbe525663ce5c2aR19

hmdne was trolling and asked to remove the part about tolerating opinions of others - it was suggested that they move this into another PR, which they did. That PR (#2691) was eventually merged as well.

hmnde is trolling (including the PR they filed, which actually reduces the scope of the CoC). I think the claim in the parent comment is matz doesn't recognize it as such due to language/cultural barriers and thus approved and merged the change.

Naw I think he has good intentions and he wanted to showcase the absurdity of what was going on. He made a followup PR to revert the changes and try to actually solve the original issue in a less ridiculous manner: https://github.com/ruby/www.ruby-lang.org/pull/2696

Thanks it was this commit https://github.com/ruby/www.ruby-lang.org/commit/66bbbcb9eaea3074dce4e15bf79373d45c3525de

While the one OP linked does include some discussion that appears to have led to the removal of "Participants will be tolerant of opposing views" bit, the actual PR where that happened was here.

dang — this thread is linking to the wrong PR. The PR which removes the phrase quoted in the title is https://github.com/ruby/www.ruby-lang.org/pull/2691
