- Is it possible to run Lightning node on a mobile phone (Android or iOS)?

What is best Lightning Wallet?
Eclair Mobile, which is an app that lets you manually run an eclair node on your phone, like Phoenix does. Doesn't handle channels for you, but allows you to manage your node more deliberately. (recommended by u/whitslack)

Non custodial android wallet that can open channels to Tor nodes
I am searching for an Android wallet to open a channel to my Tor based node. Somewhat surprisingly, this isn't supported by Eclair Mobile. I have tried a few other wallets (BLW, Zap) and they either also do not support opening a channel to a Tor node or don't support opening channels at all.
- It was a hard decision. But the truth is, I want to USE my money. Been holding this amount since I stepped into crypto currency. Love this community. Thank you.

Eclair Mobile "Cheating attempt detected", can't remove channels from list
Try to contact Eclair/ACINQ support. Try their github https://github.com/ACINQ/eclair-mobile/wiki/FAQ or tweet at https://twitter.com/acinq_co on twitter

My very first experience with the LN, my BTC are now locked for 720+ blocks (days), no idea why. I was on the ACINQ node, can't even make my first payment. Can someone explain what happened?
So the reason is to protect the users from being cheated on/losing funds, but the actual cause for the uncooperative close can have multiple reasons (a bug, channel partner unresponsive for a while, an actual cheat attempt etc). If you really want to dig in what happened, you should contact Eclair/ACINQ devs by whatever support channels they offer, or open an issue here: https://github.com/ACINQ/eclair-mobile

Why isn't Lightning more popular now that we have pretty good UX
If you don't want to run your own always-on Lightning node, but still want to be able to open channels to any node you like, then Eclair Mobile could be the right choice for you. Note that convenience features like on-the-fly channels operate under the assumption that you are only connected to one node, and cannot work with that setup."

Escaping Surveillance Capitalism, at Scale
I really thought this article was going to offer a solution, not just enumerate the problems. I'm already all too familiar with the problems.
I like what Umbrel[0] is doing. They're essentially expecting that just like computing was able to move from centralized mainframes to homes, servers are poised to make the same migration.
I think they really need to solve redundancy, though. If I'm to self-host anything important on a home server, I need to know I'll have some way to use it even if my home server fails, especially if I'm not at home when it happens.
I'd love to see some kind of system where I could partner up with other Umbrel users for backups/the ability to restore connectivity. If I knew that in an emergency, I could call my friend in town or my brother out of state and there was some procedure that would allow me to connect to an encrypted backup of what I'm needing, I would feel a lot better about taking responsibility for my own system.
