I advise you, and anyone else reading this, NOT to try fumbling your way through uninstalling Lightning -- there is a specific procedure that needs to be followed. Removing acquia lightning without removing the dependency modules?
The official Lightning uninstall process does the same overall thing -- it has you remove the distribution, but not the support modules. Only the distribution is being end-of-lifed. See https://github.com/acquia/lightning/wiki/Uninstalling-Lightning
