Top Secrets Management Tools for 2024
Like Doppler, Infisical uses environment variable injection. Similar to the Dotenv package for Node, when used in Node, it injects them at run time into the process object of the running app so they're not readable by any other processes or users. They can still be revealed by a crash dump or logging, so that is a caveat to consider in your code and build scripts.

Sensitive data like database URLs, API keys, and passwords should never be hardcoded in your application code. Instead, use environment variables accessed at runtime to keep this information secret. Popular dotenv libraries like dotenv make this easy for Node.js apps.

Why do people use Axios instead of Fetch

Axios and Fetch stand out as two leading contenders, each offering distinct features and benefits. This article delves into their differences and practical applications, providing a comprehensive comparison.

Counter-intuitive web devs mistakes
Once you start to handle all the corner-cases of the fetch, you will find that you don't want to repeat the boilerplate each time you call network, so you will write some wrapper around the fetch or use redaxios library from Jason Miller, which provides axios-like API on top of fetch so it weights only 800 bytes, which is nice. But then you might need the axios interceptors which redaxios do not implement and if your application upload files and you want to track the upload progress with ProgressEvent, the fetch does not support that, only XMLHttpRequest does, on which the original axios is based. And after you write all your custom wrappers around fetch and upload wrappers around XMLHttpRequest, you might reconcider the original statement, that axios library is obsoleted.
