Selfhosted VPN advice for Homelab Access
IPSEC-L2TP is built into everything. No clients required on Windows, Mac, Android, iOS, Linux, etc. Great Docker container for cutting through most of the difficulty here: https://hub.docker.com/r/hwdsl2/ipsec-vpn-server
- Best way for simple & secure remote access
- Containers or not containers?

DuckDNS causing significant connection establishment latency
I'm currently using hwdsl2's VPN Docker container on my server so that I can access my internal network resources while away from my home network. However, it seems that if I connect through my DuckDNS pointer, the connection takes a long time to establish (iOS/macOS will simply say "Connecting..."). I know that this would be a question to raise an issue about, which I did so here. In a nutshell, the developer of the container believes that it would be an issue on DuckDNS' end.
- Any Selfhosted VPN which can be connected via inbuilt VPN settings of Windows?

SSH into my computer from my phone (which is on a different network) to code remotely
My suggestion: Don't open up ssh to the world, set up a vpn to your home network instead, then connect to your server just as if it was on the loc network. Here's a possible option to setting up a VPN using docker: https://hub.docker.com/r/hwdsl2/ipsec-vpn-server

Hey Rustaceans! Got a question? Ask here! (36/2022)!
Is my best bet just to use (rust-musl-cross)[https://github.com/messense/rust-musl-cross] as the builder image?

Guidance about cross compilation tools, especially targeting musl
rust-musl-cross: active as last commit was 10 days ago. It said it based on rust-musl-builder. But this repo was created years ago. So why would this exist when there is also rust-musl-builder. What are the differences compared to rust-musl-builder and muslrust?

Running Rust on AWS Lambda on ARM64
The example that is provided in the AWS Rust runtime repository shows them using a custom linker and rustup target in order to cross-compile for x86-based lambdas. I attempted to dive into how to get a arm64-based linker, but in the process of trying to figure out how to get that linker installed locally (no convenient packages for Ubuntu, sorry), I stumbled across a project that provides cross-compilation tooling for various platforms via Docker. That made my life a lot easier - Using the rust-musl-cross Docker container, all I have to do is wrap the call to cargo build, and it builds for the proper architecture:
- rust-musl-cross docker images added linux/arm64 architecture support
What are some alternatives?
setup-ipsec-vpn - Scripts to build your own IPsec VPN server, with IPsec/L2TP, Cisco IPsec and IKEv2
docker-rust - The official Docker images for Rust
streisand - Streisand sets up a new server running your choice of WireGuard, OpenConnect, OpenSSH, OpenVPN, Shadowsocks, sslh, Stunnel, or a Tor bridge.
