Installing Docker Engine on an Ubuntu EC2 instance The quickest way to install the Docker engine is using the get-docker.sh bash script on get.docker.com. Run the command below to download the script on your EC2 instance.

Did you try the instructions from docker’s official site? All it should take is either adding their repos and apt installing the few necessary packages or downloading and executing the script found at https://get.docker.com

home-manager allows managing user profile on other Linux distros

I've used many different methods but none of them stuck until I started using https://github.com/nix-community/home-manager

homeconfig.nix: ```terminal { config, pkgs, ... }: let home-manager = builtins.fetchTarball "https://github.com/nix-community/home-manager/archive/master.tar.gz"; in { imports = [ (import "${home-manager}/nixos") ];

That appears to be from home-manager. But that doesn't make any sense because lib.extend does exist.

The output of sudo nix-channel --list is: terminal home-manager https://github.com/nix-community/home-manager/archive/release-22.11.tar.gz nixos https://nixos.org/channels/nixos-22.11

Flakes have nothing to do with dotfiles though. There's a nix thing called home-manager that handles dotfiles with nix, but that can be used with or without flakes

nix-channel --add https://github.com/nix-community/home-manager/archive/master.tar.gz home-manager

Home manager might also be a good solution for you
