ACARS Data Analysis
Ok, so it seems your project would be a really nice fit with ACARShub. They use what you are looking for: https://github.com/airframesio These guys have spent a bunch of time figuring the message structure and have written a nice library that you could probably tap into. If you could help add any message types, that would be fantastic. My system gets around 350,000 ACARS (VDL) a day, so if you need more data to work with, just let me know.
