Ask HN: What was the best software that you used during 2022?
I've been amassing a library which I've exposed to some family members via Tailscale
Dim (https://github.com/Dusk-Labs/dim) is also a decent shout.

JellyFin from a Plex user's perspective
From Jellyfin to Olaris and even DIM, there is a rise in media server options, one day soon Plex will have a serious competitor and I can see a lot of people, myself included, moving to one of these competitors.

Proxmox vs OpenStack (or similar)
It'll be running something along the lines of: - Reverse proxy for internet-facing stuff - VPN (probably WireGuard) for internal stuff - A couple of websites - GitLab instance - GitLab runners - Minecraft/other game servers - Potentially a mail server - A Dim instance (needs GPU passthrough or somehow get hardware decode) - Other stuff

Are you capable of securing your online services!
I haven't cracked that code yet. But the releases page on Github can be fed to an rss reader. For example, https://github.com/Dusk-Labs/dim/releases/ becomes https://github.com/Dusk-Labs/dim/releases.atom

590 weapons in vault- help
Go to https://www.d2checklist.com. Log in with your account and head to the "bow and arrow" icon. Once your inventory loads, click on the black STAR and unselect all but GOD ROLL. You can play around with the other options like Good Roll, GOD ROLL PVE, etc. Use this to lock those items in inventory and then use "destinyitemmanager.com" to view our characters and vault and clean as needed.

PC Players: What's your favorite 3rd party inventory management app and why?
What he said. For roll appraisal, you can still use DIM but I prefer www.d2checklist.com. The latter will tell you the recommended perks on every drop you get.

D2Checklist is now available as an Android app
D2Checklist.com has always been designed to work on phones and tablets, and you could even use the PWA install features to load it to your home page on your device, but a lot of folks really want to install a proper app, so I finally buckled down and got that all setup. Before you ask... no I don't have an iOS version yet, though dancing w/ the Apple App store may be on my future todo list (I'm learning it's a bit more of a pain than Androids').

Showing base armour stats in comparisons
Agreed. Logged here: https://github.com/dcaslin/d2-checklist/issues/468 will update once its live!
Nice! Pushing it to master now. I've been working on a big refactor of how the manifest loads, so it will go with that. Should be on www.d2checklist.com within 10 mins or so.
- Auto-select armor mods based off your weapons WITHOUT crafting a loadout

D2Checklist updates: See all unfinished season Triumphs in one place, revamped Todo list, curate your own god rolls
Don't mind at all. This is all manually setup and I just missed the mappings. The hardest part for me is figuring out the right list! Do you happen to know the choices for bows?
It's been a while since I posted about D2Checklist.com here, so I figured I'd update on some new features that rolled out recently. These should help you all get setup nicely ahead of the upcoming new season.
Thx for the heads up, logged https://github.com/dcaslin/d2-checklist/issues/409
