Linters are code analyzers that provide estilistic suggestions. The most widely spread in Javascript is esLint. Setting it up in a react application is pretty easy.

  • Migrating from JS/TS ecosystem to Blazor

I plan to add Blazor to our team's tech stack. My current background is JS/TS ecosystem (NPM). Currently, I'm making the boilerplate that will be the base of our Blazor projects. My question what is the equivalent of eslint, prettier, husky, etc in C# ecosystem. I haven't found any straightforward in this matter. FYI, our team uses VS Code but I personally plan to use Visual Studio when using Blazor.

You should check out eslint and I would recommend it like your dentist recommends flossing. It's super easy to set up, just run npx eslint --init in your app directory. It integrates with vs code, and it helps highlight errors and can help clean up code.

You might think about installing ESLint and an opinionated style config like AirBnB. It will be a bit of a pain to set up, and your code will not initially conform to the rules, but it is a programmatic why to ensure a certain amount of consistency in the style. You can also modify the rules rather than your code. I usually work with a modified version of AirBnB installed.
  • Automate Your Teams Code Style Guide with Prettier

💭 You may be thinking: Does Prettier replace my Linter? No. Prettier is installed to make your code pretty. Prettier does not check for unused variables, type checking, not allowing any variable types. For that level of checking, I recommend ESLint to be used alongside Prettier for JavaScript and TypeScript projects.
