Chromebooks will get 10 years of automatic updates
Why BIOS (did you mean UEFI?) when it runs the best boot loader, which is Coreboot¹. Many users would love to re-flash their bios/uefi for it, if it’s supported.

C++ is everywhere, but noone really talks about it. What are people's thoughts?
Coreboot is 0.6% C++.

Asus flip c302 last update
You can also use Mr. Chromebox Script to install Coreboot on your chromebook to get a UEFI BIOS on your Chromebook and then you can go an install either a linux distro or even Windows if you want. It's a pretty straightforward process and also reversable if you want to go back to just using ChromeOS.

AMD to move to open source firmware in 2026
There may be other protections to restrict SPI flash access for security reasons (so you might not be able to flash your custom firmware in the OS), but worst case you can use a HW flasher (or maybe USB flashback). Still, this doesn't address the elephant in the room - platform initialization code might be open-sourced, but that isn't everything. You'll still need to figure out the board-specific stuff (the Super I/O chip, chipset GPIOs, other peripherals, etc.). Using coreboot as an example, Intel provides the Firmware Support Package blob to handle platform initialization. I think AGESA is somewhat similar to this, though Intel publicly releases the binaries for use in coreboot/etc. Thanks to the FSP, coreboot has support for recent Intel chipsets. However, there is only support for two recent consumer boards: the MSI PRO Z690-A WiFi DDR4 and DDR5.

When will pulse gen 2 come out ?
They will stay unchanged. It is easier right now to get a semi-decent 720p webcam than a good 2MP cam. Also, give Pulseeffects a try, we have already set up an audio profile for the Pulse 15. Using that, the Pulse already has one of the better speakers in our portfolio. The profile is not perfect, since it can lead to slight distortions on certain frequencies, like any equalizer-setting it is not suited for everything, but it will boost the lower frequency and enhance stereo separation. If you experience audible "vibrations" through the case, feel free to untighten the bottom cover screws very slightly in the speaker area. If they are too tight, it will vibrate audibly more.

THX Audio in Stellaris 15 Gen 3 AMD laptop
You can try something with PulseEffects but I couldn't find a very good combination. There is a git repository from Tuxedo: https://github.com/tuxedocomputers/pulseeffects-presets . In addition, you can enable "Convolver" and import one of these IRS (Impulse Response) files: https://github.com/eedeidk/PulseAudio-IRSs/tree/master/IRS . Share your results if you find a good one.

Tuxedo InfinityBook S 15 review
A suggested trick is to install PulseEffects but it does not add any significant improvement with the given settings.

AutoEQ + PulseEffects for better sound quality with headphones (Ubuntu)

InfinityBook 14 Gen. 6: user feedback
u/_Loxley Do you mean speakers with more bass or at a different position? Have you tried PulseEffects? https://github.com/tuxedocomputers/pulseeffects-presets There is no preset yet for the Pro 14 v6. But you should be able to get a more clear and louder sound after some tweaking.
