Is there a way to make a fully portable dev setup?

Coder V2 seems like a cool option. I'm using it now to build out a reproducible developer platform. Super flexible, as it uses Terraform to build out whatever environment you want to provide to developers. Still beta, but seems like it might become a really solid option in this space.6 projects | reddit.com/r/devops | 27 Aug 2022
Willing to trade vscode in for a headless vscode like code-server?

Hi, I want to self-host a service like GitHub codespaces. I have already tested gitpod and coder. I would like to know is there are others services likes these that deploy development environment as docker or lxc container. Thanks in advance4 projects | reddit.com/r/selfhosted | 9 Aug 2022

very similar, but seems a bit more polished is https://coder.com, you can write your own terraform modules and run it on whatever cloud you want.

Or self host Code Server (VS Code) so you can access it from anywhere.

NGINX or Caddy?

are you not concerned about exposing the docker socket to traefik? everything so far seems to only reduce risk, but not mitigate entirely. seems better to avoid this until it's fully resolved.
Go runtime: 4 years later

Actually, folks just use gRPC or Yaegi in Go.
See Terraform, Traefik, or OctoSQL.
Although I agree plugins would be welcome, especially for performance reasons, though also to be able to compile and load go code into a running go process (JIT-ish).
Disclaimer: author of OctoSQL
Nginx removed the Nginx Amplify source from GitHub, and their new pre-built packages don't support Alpine or uncommon architectures - Here's an Alpine container with Amplify included, extracted from their packages and available for 6 architectures
Sounds like their README is in need of updating, a visit to it had me thinking they only did http.
This is it exactly. You can still run Traefik it just needs to be alongside nginx for FastCGI if FastCGI is necessary for your application. There's an open issue on GitHub and looks like it may be coming to version 3.
Best reverse proxy
If you're using Docker, (Traefik)[https://traefik.io/] has many advantages over Caddy that make it worth using instead.

You may find that Traefik is a better option than nginx for your use case. I've had great success running it to terminate stupid numbers of services on a docker swarm, and endpoints are automatically added and removed via labels on docker containers.
A simple reverse proxy for redirection

I think there's some confusion here. Some well known reverse proxies written in go are Traefik or Caddy. It does not appear that your tool is meant to compete in that space. I think it's commendable that you're solving real world problems that you face personally with code but I think terminology wise you would do better to steer away from calling it a reverse proxy

If you're looking for a docker solution, check out my GitHub repo that uses Traefic. You can have as many sub domains as you want. documentation and features are not complete, but making things use https is pretty self explanatory.
