Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

JavaScript Bloat in 2024
Remember The Website Obesity Crisis [1] article from 2015, since then [2] things only got worse, and it is been almost 10 years already (at the end of 2024).
Is it foolish to say that in 10 more years you wont be able to navigate the web on a circa 2015 PC ? If nothing changes seems like it.
My old macbook from 2013 with latest Firefox is already can not handle loading https://civitai.com web page with 23.98 MB of JavaScript, it is just hangs for half a minute while trying to render this disaster of web frontend.

Ask HN: Those making $500/month on side projects in 2024 – Show and tell
Soz, I don't like to cross link my accounts, especially with all this TSWift shenanigans going around. But, if you look at https://civitai.com/ plenty of people have links to their ko-fi accounts where you can commission them (heck you may even find me somewhere on there).

‘Nudify’ Apps That Use AI to ‘Undress’ Women in Photos Are Soaring in Popularity
Tons of models to pick from on Civitai. I have a bunch downloaded for making NPCs for DnD.
-
[serious] we as a community need to do something about this.
With places you can get upgraded/specialized diffusion models or LORA, who themselves have extensions to tie in and make that experience more seamless

Sir Nicolas Cage Owner of Jewelry shop
do you have a good pc/laptop with a good GPU? is so start with this. A1111 WebUI is no longer being updated so heres a new one https://github.com/LykosAI/StabilityMatrix/ this site you can download checkpoints and loras you have to sign up (its free, and once you do that click on the eye and click everything) https://civitai.com/ you can get prompts from this site (use the search) https://playgroundai.com/ Edited: took out the direct link out and reposted

IT Veteran... why am I struggling with all of this?
You should also try dabbling in AI art. Full motion video is becoming increasingly prevalent (albeit a bit rough as it's still growing). Stable Diffusion Automatic1111 is free. Get to downloading, and try LoRA's with a Stable Diffusion XL checkpoint from Civitai. The future is now, old man.

SDXL Turbo: A Real-Time Text-to-Image Generation Model
> Civit dot ai
The site you are thinking of is https://civitai.com/ not "civit dot ai".

Stable Video Diffusion
> Haven't you seen the insane quality of videos on civitai?
I have not, so I went to https://civitai.com/ which I guess is what you're talking about? But I cannot find a single video there, just images and models.

Best ai image generator without a nsfw filter?
You can get many user created models from https://civitai.com/ You'll need to login to see all models. You'll see some models labled XL. This means they are using SDXL, a newer version of Stable Diffusion. These are much more resource intensive to use than Stable Diffusion 1.5.

Stable Diffusion 3
Probably not, since I have no idea what you're talking about. I've just been using the models that InvokeAI (2.3, I only just now saw there's a 3.0) downloads for me [0]. The SD1.5 one is as good as ever, but the SD2 model introduces artifacts on (many, but not all) faces and copyrighted characters.

AMD Funded a Drop-In CUDA Implementation Built on ROCm: It's Open-Source
As promised in my other comment, I did send a PR! https://github.com/invoke-ai/InvokeAI/pull/5714
hopefully this PR fixes the immediate issue: https://github.com/invoke-ai/InvokeAI/pull/5714/files
And Fedora supports OCI containers as host images and also podman container images with just systemd to respawn one or a pod of containers.
I actually used the rocm/pytorch image you also linked.
I'm not sure what you're pointing to with your reference to the Fedora-based images. I'm quite happy with my NixOS install and really don't want to switch to anything else. And as long as I have the correct kernel module, my host OS really shouldn't matter to run any of the images.
And I'm sure it can be made to work with many base images, my point was just that the dependency management around pytorch was in a bad state, where it is extremely easy to break.
> Anyways, hopefully this PR fixes the immediate issue: https://github.com/invoke-ai/InvokeAI/pull/5714/files
It does! At least for me. It is my PR after all ;)

Can some expert analyze a github repo and tell us if it's really safe or not?
The data being flagged is not in that github repo, it's fetched from elsewhere and I don't fancy spending time looking for it. The alert is for 'Sirefef!cfg' which has been reported as a false positive with a bunch of other stable diffusion projects (https://www.reddit.com/r/StableDiffusion/comments/101zjec/trojanwin32sirefefcfg_an_apparently_common_false/, https://www.reddit.com/r/StableDiffusion/comments/xmhukb/trojan_in_waifudiffusion_model_file/, https://github.com/invoke-ai/InvokeAI/issues/2773 )

Easy Stable Diffusion XL in your device, offline
There are already a number of local, inference options that are (crucially) open-source, with more robust feature sets.
And if the defense here is "but Auto1111 and Comfy don't have as user-friendly a UI", that's also already covered. https://github.com/invoke-ai/InvokeAI

Best ai image generator without a nsfw filter?
Stable Diffusion. /r/stablediffusion There are many tutorials on how to set it up locally and use it. InvokeAI is the easiest way to set it up. https://github.com/invoke-ai/InvokeAI

ChatGPT loses users for first time, shaking faith in AI revolution
For base tooling, things like:
https://huggingface.co/ (finding models and downloading them)
https://github.com/ggerganov/llama.cpp (llama)
https://github.com/cmp-nct/ggllm.cpp (falcon)
For interactive work (art/chat/research/playing around), things like:
https://github.com/oobabooga/text-generation-webui/blob/main... (llama) (Also - they just added a decent chat server built into llama.cpp the project)
https://github.com/invoke-ai/InvokeAI (stable-diffusion)
Plus a bunch of hacked together scripts.
Some example models (I'm linking to quantized versions that someone else has made, but the tooling is in the above repos to create them from the published fp16 models)
https://huggingface.co/TheBloke/llama-65B-GGML
https://huggingface.co/TheBloke/falcon-40b-instruct-GPTQ
https://huggingface.co/TheBloke/Wizard-Vicuna-30B-Uncensored...
etc. Hugging face has quite a number, although some require filling out forms for the base models for tuning/training.
