The number of mentions indicates the total number of mentions that we've tracked plus the number of user suggested alternatives.
Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

  • Buildpacks and Paketo with Ram Iyengar
    dev.to | 2021-09-15
Ram: Yeah. I'm glad you asked that question because, like I mentioned, there are like two peaks to the Buildpacks adoption sort of curve. In the first version or first avatar of Buildpacks, they weren't very agile in terms of the platform, the end platform that they would deploy to. So Heroku started off with this. I think they open-sourced a lot of the internals. And then Cloud Foundry, which was Pivotal back in the day, had their own version of Buildpacks with their own version of the life cycle and everything. And so, it was very distinct in terms of what the target platform was for the Buildpacks to go out and make a deployment. Between the first and the second sort of peaks, Docker, or rather the popularity of containers, really took off. So Docker happened. I am just using Docker and containers very interchangeably, so; please forgive me for that.

Cloud Foundry is an open-source tool for writing code in any language, with any framework, on any Kubernetes cluster. Provides a highly secure environment in which you can bypass complex configuration and routine operational tasks. Integrates with your environment and tools, including CI/CD and IDEs. Security patches are implemented quickly in response to vulnerabilities, so it stays secure for sensitive, mission-critical application development.

Instead of writing *.yaml files (which are what workflow run on), you can spend your time writing code, and leave the workflows to Flyte. It's built on Kubernetes, and there's lots of SDKs so you can program exactly what you want.

It's worth mentioning that server is an abstraction in our case. For example, the deployment might proceed to the Kubernetes cluster. So, there are might be several servers.

For the majority of their work, they need tools for Version Control (GitHub, GitLab), Container Management(Kubernetes, Docker), APM (Elastic, AppDynamics), Deployments and Server Monitoring(Datadog), CI/CD & Test Automation (Jenkins, TravisCI, CircleCI, GitHub Actions), etc..
  • Need help debugging emptyDir volumes with init containers
It just seemed to me that this is something that should be available and I just don't know how to tell it to k8s correctly. As I read this thread, I see that I'm not the only one. But of course, if that is for some reason not the right solution, I'd adapt.
  • Kubernetes integrations (with ZigiOps)
    reddit.com/r/ZigiOps | 2021-10-12
Kubernetes (K8)is a popular open-source solution used by many Dev and DevOps teams worldwide to automate the deployment and management of containerized applications, workloads, and services. To achieve this, Kubernetes allows you to regroup easily manageable containers (container units), which facilitates the development and configuration of applications, making development processes more agile, efficient, and scalable.
  • Deploying and Scaling the Official Strapi Demo App "Foodadvisor" with Kubernetes
    dev.to | 2021-10-12
Kubernetes is a container orchestration system that is used for automated container deployment, scaling, and management. Thanks to Kubernetes, running a containerized app that scales is a breeze. Multiple worker machines are combined to form a cluster, and each worker machine hosts pods that run the different containers pertaining to the application.
  • Data Resiliency
    dev.to | 2021-10-06
Just to give a small intro to Kubernetes(k8s), it is a tool which helps you deploy your applications, scale and manage them as per your wish. To learn in detail, how k8s is resilient in itself, we need to dive deep into the various components constituting it.
