Cannot wrap my head on NFTs
I am running through the Plutus Pioneer Program and I have reached week 5. Also as a reference, I will use the LobsterChallenge repository. I am a bit confused about how NFTs work for the Cardano blockchain.
- It’s been over 11 weeks and there are still no Cardano dapps
- There are over 2300 Cardano Smart Contracts waiting to be deployed. When will Cardano be ready?

Out of interest, does anyone here still actually believe in legitimate use cases for crypto, or are you all just out of control gamblers throwing money at anything in the hope it will pump?
They also regularly use the system to demonstrate how it could be used for a robust world of smart contracts that aren't just 'dexes for maxing out your APY. For example not too long ago we got to name Hoskinson's toy lobster by doing anonymous voting. There are also some really great projects like Atala Prism related to establishing a permanent digital identity digitized into the blockchain where you control the keys to view your certifications, degrees, health information and so forth, rather than leaving them in the hands of Google or Apple, a variety of doctors' offices you visit, your insurance companies, etc etc.
- So, ugh, where the Cardano Dapps?

Last Sunday, during a live-streamed celebration of the Alonzo Hark Fork, the IOHK team presented our community with The Lobster Challenge (https://github.com/input-output-hk/lobster-challenge).

I just read that the only active dapp on Cardano is used to name a lobster. That is simply not good enough, and we are going to change it!
The intent was to create a well documented smart contract example and then allow people to interact with it as a low barrier to entry engagement opportunity for the community. The exercise was put together by the guy leading the plutus pioneers program and is well done, check out the GitHub: https://github.com/input-output-hk/lobster-challenge
