Cortex X2: ARM aims high
The number of boards supported by these two distros is astonishing:
https://www.armbian.com/download/
The NanoPC-T6 is already supported by Armbian build system:
-
Raspberry Pi 5: available now
It's my understanding that https://www.armbian.com/ has quite broad hardware support, and there are boards from Orange Pi and Pine64 that boast actual mainline kernel support, so this is more a case of a fragmented ecosystem than there being zero competitors that can meet or exceed pis.

A Raspberry Pi 5 is better than two Pi 4S
The normal Raspberry Pi OS Lite is pretty okay.
https://www.armbian.com/ is also pretty awesome and also supports bunch of other RaspberryPi clones for cheaper price.
- Setup an Ethereum archive node using Reth on the Orange Pi 5

Armbian on orange pi 5 plus
git clone https://github.com/armbian/build cd build ./compile.sh BOARD=orangepi5-plus RELEASE=jammy BUILD_MINIMAL=yes KERNEL_GIT=full BUILD_DESKTOP=no BUILD_ONLY="u-boot,kernel,armbian-config,armbian-zsh,bootstrap" KERNEL_CONFIGURE=no
Yes if you build from source: https://github.com/armbian/build/commit/1c619dccae659a69bdf2538b885c5e5f934c6fbb

ASUS tinkerboard first generation. Can I run klipper on this sbc
Use KIAUH and any debian OS (like Armbian or something)

[Guide] How to boot Orange pi 5 from SATA m.2 SSD not NVME (for Orange pi OS and Armbian)
write armbian .img file to your sd card with balenaetcher, I chose to use the more up to date imags from their github here https://github.com/armbian/build/releases/ make sure to unzip
- How many writes per day on a basic OpenBSD ssh server?
-
I've tried getting the OPi 5 to display with both hdmi and USB-C with zero luck. Not even detecting a change in temperature on any chips. I'm almost certain it's a bad board. any advice?
Okay, poked around some more on the forum and found: https://github.com/armbian/build/pull/4582

Pop on an intel MacBook Air with T2.
Download the .deb files from here (try the “alt” ones first) https://github.com/marcosfad/mbp-ubuntu-kernel/releases/tag/v5.7.19 and use sudo apt install FILENAMEHERE.deb.
have a look at https://wiki.t2linux.org for instructions on getting linux on those macs. If you want popos, install it with an external keyboard, then install the mbp ubuntu kernel https://github.com/marcosfad/mbp-ubuntu-kernel , and the apple-bce dkms module (look at the dkms page on that wiki). For wifi, you’ll need a different kernel as your macbook came with macos catalina (the wifi firmware format changed). You can try this debian package which I compiled but i don’t have a debian system to see if it installs properly

Debian 11 on T2 macs
You can use the mbp-ubuntu kernel, although it has not yet been updated with newer patches that are in mbp-arch, but you can build a kernel with those parches as described here. That keyboard/trackpad driver, apple-bce, is not in the main kernel yet. There are instructions for installing it as a dkms module here. In general, the t2linux wiki and the t2 linux discord server (linked to in the wiki a lot) are where the most up to date info on running linux on t2 macs is.
- Is it usable to boot OSX from an external drive and install Linux on main drive?

Linux has landed on Mars. The Perseverance rover's helicopter (called Ingenuity) is built on Linux and JPL's open source F' framework
If I remember correctly on my 2019 13” everything was working quite well except for the audio which would only output to the speakers and the wifi/Bluetooth not working. Battery was fine for me I can’t remember having to charge it more often than usual. Ubuntu on Touchbar Mac
