The number of mentions indicates the total number of mentions that we've tracked plus the number of user suggested alternatives.
Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

Bug Hunting in Btrfs
Can this be used? I knew ReactOS would use it natively.
- How will a micro sd card work on a dual booted steam deck?
-
For Dual-Boot Steam Deck Users: Share a Single MicroSD Card on both SteamOS & Windows 10/11 Guide
Extract btrfs-1.8.2.zip and right click on the btrfs.inf file and click Install. It will now install the btrfs driver.

Portable arch linux, whilst using the same drive as an external storage, for say windows?
Partition the drive so you can reserve some space as external storage for Windows. Using the extFAT filesystem for the storage partition is a great option since it is well-supported by both Arch and Windows, and it also allows for files larger than 4GB to be stored. btrfs can also be used, but you'll need to install WinBtrfs on Windows to be able to read it from there.
So you want to be able to access the drive from windows too? That might be a little tricky, as linux cant install on some file systems, while windows cant read pretty much those exact file systems. Now, this leaves two options. Number 1: You go and make a seperate /home partition, that can be ntfs or fat32 or whatever windows will accept, while keeping your root in ext4 or whatever you like. Number 2: Make a single root partition, and format it as btrfs, then use an experimental btrfs driver and mount your flash drive that way. Keep in mind however, that its an experimental thing. This driver worked fine on one pc, however, on another it caused bluescreens every 2nd time id turn on the pc.

Running windows 10 from SD card, can I use steamdeck as external storage to install more games?

Hi. What file system do you think I should format my External HDD to?
I have been using https://github.com/maharmstone/btrfs on Windows for some time now. So far, there have been no problems that have led to data loss.

How to transfer files to Steam deck?
Switch to using BTRFS on the sd card and use the Windows BTRFS driver. https://github.com/maharmstone/btrfs Many emulator handhelds use this method for their ROM sd cards. I have not tried it.

Is there any free version of this app" linux file systems for windows by paragon" available? They saying I need to pay $20 just so I can transfer my files from a Linux based file system to Windows which is actually absurd.
For more info, here is their wiki https://github.com/tuxera/ntfs-3g/wiki

External Hard Drive suddenly Windows Formatted?
You should typically have no issue reading from the NTFS disk with a Mac but writing to is a separate matter. The driver you were using may not be compatible with Ventura. Here are a couple paid options: Paragon NTFS, along with NTFS for Mac. There are also a couple open-source options with limited support but should be otherwise functional: NTFS-3G or macFUSE.

30 questions from a one week Linux user
You need ntfs-3g to read/write a NTFS drive. It shouldn't corrupt your data no matter what but may create some Linux-only files which may prevent the Windows machine from booting up. Idk how Windows 7 handle this. Windows 10 should ignore them though.

"mount -o ro" does not write-protect last access dates on NTFS.
Looks like someone has already posted it to GitHub following this post.
ntfs-3g is not a kernel module, it's userspace and it's on GitHub.
This has been reported to the ntfs-3g developers: https://github.com/tuxera/ntfs-3g/issues/43

NTFS3 driver is orphan already. What we do?
There are businesses that rely on Linux playing nice in heterogeneous environments and NTFS-3G via Fuse has always been more of a stop-gap solution and that one hasn't seen any development activity since August 2021: https://github.com/tuxera/ntfs-3g

Arch Linux on NTFS3!
In comparison, ntfs-3g is fairly mature when it comes to translating ACLs, see: https://github.com/tuxera/ntfs-3g/wiki/File-Ownership-and-Permissions
