Koi VS KdeAutoThemeSwitch

For everyone wondering about automatically switching to dark mode, I can definitely recommend using koi - at least until the feature has been built into the plasma desktop itself. It's based on time, and as far as I know does not support using light sensors.

This is light-weight alternative to Koi and Ying-Yang. The main difference is in its simplicity and customization of a bash script. It includes a home directory variable file when installed, which can add functionality but also just holds values such as the sunrise delay. Installation is simple and no downloads are needed other than the script.

I can really recommend koi for that purpose. I mean, built-in would be better, but Koi does a really great job, too!

For KDE Plasma though, unfortunately, the only automatic way I could find to accomplish this is by using this project on github which is not supported on every distro (although recently added to the OBS).

I know about Koi, Yin-Yang, AutomaThemely, Plasma Theme Switcher and the widget I was talking about in last comment, Dynamic global themes. Once I even made a very poorly written and simple script to toggle KDE global themes, gtk themes, konsole colorscheme etc all at once and it barely works but I want to see an officially supported toggle to allow Auto Day/Night theme change in System Settings.

I don't know how much satisfied you are of your scripts but there's Koi which could interest you ;)

True. But, there's this thing but I don't know how good this is. Also besides that they need to add something similar to Pop Shell. There's krohnkite but it is quite hard to configure and use.
