Hmm! This issue makes it sound like the ID generation was previously being done client-side: https://github.com/Azure/azure-cosmos-dotnet-v3/issues/815 . Is your screenshot from the (old) SDK documentation or the database API? Anyway, I’ve always just generated the id GUIDs myself.
