Painless CLI integration testing
We use Jest Framework for testing. Jest is not a dogma, and, of course, in its place can be any other test runner, such as Mocha or Ava. Let's focus on tests. I'll provide a short example because I donāt want to waste your time. You can find the full version here. It's crucial to read the comments in the code below. Let's go!

Speeding up the JavaScript ecosystem ā The barrel file debacle
> In the popular jest test runner, each test file is executed in its own child process.
Is that confirmed?
I've been following this issue:
https://github.com/jestjs/jest/issues/6957
And what Jest actually does is still kind of muddy.
In contrast to that, other test runners like AVA have a clear description what happens when:

What Tools Are You Using to Test Your Code?
I've been looking at using japa or ava for web server testing but was curious what others were using and why.

[2023-07-14] Razuberi Development Update
Continued work on the test suite. Implementing AVA, with snapshotting. Making a lot of effort to have the snapshot directory structure match the test262 test directory structure by generating AVA test files.

Ask HN: What's your favorite software testing framework and why?
You might want to give ava a spin:
https://github.com/avajs/ava/
It has a TAP reporter, but more importantly, as opposed to the more popular solutions, like Jest, the way it achieves parallelism is explained in the docs and won't change anytime soon, thus preventing wonky, hard to debug errors which occur when this part is abstracted away.

The new React's documentation
I switched to ava for that reason and have been very happy with it. But vitest looks nice, too. Thanks for the pointer.

Express API Testing
Last but not least important are ava, uvu and tape; they are a really light and fast test runners.

Unit testing: What to use, and how?
I've had some good experiences with Ava + Sinon. I've personally disliked Jest because it seemed to do some weird trickery in the background that prevented me from using ES modules.

Tech stack discussion
Ava for a simpler environment than Jest, which I usually use. I need to check how to mock ESM with it, though.

Learn Automated Testing At Home: A Beginner's Guide
6.NightwatchJS: NightwatchJS is a Node.js-based end-to-end testing framework. Key Features: Simplifies writing test scripts using a simple syntax. Supports parallel test execution. Integrates with Selenium WebDriver for cross-browser testing

CSS Selectors And XPath Locators In Selenium Test Automation Scripts
I have shown you the examples of using selectors in the Google Chrome dev tools, but the idea is similar when you write your automation scripts. I will use the Nightwatch testing framework to write the following snippets which will navigate to some webpage, wait to ensure that an interactive element has appeared in the DOM, and finally click on it. If you want to learn using Javascript with Nightwatch framework for your automated tests, you can start with our guide to this.

A Beginnerās Guide To Test Automation With Javascript(Nightwatch.js). Part 3.
The reason for this behavior is thoroughly explained in Understanding the Command Queue Nightwatch.js GitHub wiki (it is a long read but itās worth it). In this section, we will not look in such detail, this is going to be a summary of sorts. By the way, this command queue example can be found in Loaderoās public GitHub examples repository here.

How To Perform Automation Testing With Cucumber And Nightwatch JS?
Nightwatch.js is a popular open-source, Selenium JavaScript-based test automation framework for automating browser-based web applications and websites. It is written in Node.js runtime and uses the W3C WebDriver API (formerly Selenium WebDriver) for interacting with various browsers to perform commands and assertions on DOM elements.

Properly Configuring Nightwatch to Run Geckodriver
For Firefox-specific options (like command-line args and browser about:config prefs), the property to use is moz:firefoxOptions. That is shipping in the latest default nightwatch.conf.js file, as is the parallel goog:chromeOptions for chromedriver. But if you've got a legacy configuration fileālike I didāyou'll want to update the old chromeOptions property, too.
