Switchale Audio Inputs (Line In/Mic/WiFi (LedFX)?
For line in, is the ADC really not that good on an ESP32? Or is the signal conditioning circuit shown on this page workable to get a reasonable output? https://github.com/atuline/WLED/wiki/Analog-Audio-Input-Options I notice that there is circuit diagram on the page for switchable analogue mic or line in on this page - but from what I've read the digital microphones are much better options.

Strange WS2812C-2020 flicker on ESP32 but not ESP8266
For the ESP8266, I'm using my ESP8266-FastLED-WebServer sketch: https://github.com/jasoncoon/esp8266-fastled-webserver
- I created a beginner-friendly library for the ESP8266 that allows you to control multiple FastLED animations using custom sliders and color pickers.

Looking for help with app/PC controll of leds
Hi u/BennyPooWohoo - I would highly recommend that you look at u/Pup05’s [Jason Coon] outstanding code for this at: https://github.com/jasoncoon/esp8266-fastled-webserver He also has code for an ESP32 webserver in one of his GitHub repositories.

FastLED lighting up some seriously optic blown glass art by Katie Huskie (UK) LEDs by me. Wow! (WS2812b strip in serpentine matrix running modnoise pattern )
The code is a modified early version of https://github.com/jasoncoon/esp8266-fastled-webserver with various patterns added including this one: https://gist.github.com/StefanPetrick/e6aeee3a7d75ee9f713b0d451fba6607

Atmega vs ESP8366 w/ level shifter
What code are you running? Using wi-fi? Tried inserting a short delay (not FastLED.delay) in the loop? Tried different combinations of the FastLED interrupt declarations? https://github.com/jasoncoon/esp8266-fastled-webserver/blob/main/esp8266-fastled-webserver.ino#L19
