Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

Should any of the Markdown editors allow me to make internal links?
Append Editor uses Remark TOC. If you add a section #TOC, the rendered pane will have autogenerated table of contents with local links.

Feature request: button to jump to the end of a note
Append Editor is an unofficial Standard Notes editor that has buttons to scroll to top and bottom of a note. It also allows you to print a note!

Standard Notes, if you want something higher security (zero-knowledge, end-to-end encrypted). The free version is very basic but you can use third party extensions without a subscription to make it more usable (I use Rich Markdown Editor, see this page for others).
