Optimizing My Dev Workflow in 2025
Aerospace is a tiling window manager like i3 on Linux environment. This way I can manage my application windows and put them into different keys. I can navigate through my app windows very quickly with a shortcut:

macOS Tips and Tricks
Aerospace works pretty well, but has an issue that was a deal breaker to me, in apps that uses native tabs are not displayed as expected [0]

Show HN: FlashSpace – fast, open-source, macOS Spaces replacement
I have been using AeroSpace for this purpose for over a year. I simply disable all the tiling features in the config and only use two shortcuts: switch to workspace and move current window to workspace. It's absolutely essential when working on a small screen.
AeroSpace does indeed suffer from a performance issue but this appears to be inherent to the available macOS APIs: https://github.com/nikitabobko/AeroSpace/issues/131
The way you reproduce it is open Factorio.app and quickly switch between workspaces while the game is loading.
FlashSpace seems to suffer from this problem as well based on a quick test.
With regards to configuration, I think it's cumbersome to configure shortcuts per workspace. In AeroSpace, every letter and number on the keyboard is automatically a workspace and shortcuts are global.
All that said, this is a fantastic tool and I would prefer a tool like this that addresses the pain of macOS workspaces as its primary goal rather than being part of a tiling window manager.

Has anyone tried Aerospace as a tiling manager for OSX? I mean this: https://github.com/nikitabobko/AeroSpace
Any feedback?

Moom 4, the next-generation window manager
The thing with most of these macOS window managers is they lack support for workspaces, an essential feature in WMs like i3.
macOS Workspaces are not the best to use, because switching between them causes an animation or at least a delay. I started using Aerospace [0] recently, and they've implemented virtual workspaces themselves which works much better than macOS Workspaces.
I still have to configure Aerospace properly for multi-display setups, but it works really well with this i3-like config right out of the box [1]. And they have comprehensive docs too!
I highly recommend trying out Aerospace if current macOS window management solutions aren't working well for you.

Ice - open source bar manager for macOS
Window management is fine, what is missing are half-split/full-screen shortcuts. There are many apps which can set them up, but a built-in possibility would fix most issues, since only a very small subset of users cares about tiling wm even on linux. Though, there was a new project the other day on HN, where SIP can remain on: https://github.com/nikitabobko/AeroSpace
I, for my part, have configured window placement shortcuts in Hammerspoon (also possible with KM, BTT and a what feels like a million of other apps) and am completely happy. I mostly look at the maximized terminal anyway, the splits do happen in neovim and tmux.
