Keeping Your WordPress Website Safe and Secure with WP White Security
There are two versions of WordPress: WordPress.com and WordPress.org. WordPress.com is a hosting platform where you can create a website without needing to worry about hosting, security, or maintenance. WordPress.org, on the other hand, is the self-hosted version of WordPress. You'll need to download the WordPress software and install it on their web server. This gives you more control over your website and allows for greater customization.

new to Wordpress.org...can I buy a premium theme somewhere?
I am getting very confused. Can I use a purchased theme for wordpress.org?
wordpress.org is self-hosted and you can use any theme from the official repository and also bought themes. Astra is a freemium theme. You can install the free version through the dashboard of your self-hosted site. If I remember correctly, Astra Premium is a companion plugin that you install on top of the free version.

WordPlate: WordPress on Composer with sensible defaults
>Also $wpdb->prepare() uses parametrised values.
They appear to be a hand-rolled PHP version of imitation parameterized values, not the actual database library ones.

Please help! Ran some updates and now the dropdown menu won't work because part of the bar got clipped off! Has anyone experienced this before?
btw, are you build this via wordpress.com or wordpress.org?
I think it's wordpress.org. It's not my site, it's for an organization I'm interning at, and I'm pretty sure they're using the .org version. I'm not too familiar with Wordpress honestly, but no one at the organization is very confident with IT either, so I figured I'd take a crack at fixing and updating some things on their site while I was there. Aaaannnddd this happened lmfao
