Konnected.io project
I just did this with our ancient system. I replaced the keypads with Ring Alarm Keypads v2 which connected to my Home Assistant server via Zwave and stay in sync with the Alarmo custom integration using this Blueprint. It all works great and was much easier than expected to switch over.

Starting March 29, 2023, a Ring Protect subscription will be required to access Ring Alarm in-app features in the US and Canada
If you have an existing Ring security system, you can either integrate all of it's sensors and alarm control with Home Assistant via Ring MQTT or get your own ZWave hub, connect all the sensors to that, and use Alarmo to create your own security system. I'm doing the former since I want to pay for the peace of mind that comes from a professionally monitored security system, but can switch to the latter if Amazon gets too greedy.

How can I ditch ADT, but keep this equipment and integrate it into HomeKit? (Details in comments)
As others have mentioned, you can replace the ADT mainboard with Konnected. From there, expose your now Konnected hardwired sensors to Home Assistant and setup an alarm system using the Alarmo integration. Expose that all to HomeKit.

I need a smart home security panel that pairs with all my security cameras, doorbells, and motion/door sensors, but without having to pay for 24/7 monitoring
Check out Alarmo if you use Home Assistant: https://github.com/nielsfaber/alarmo

New house, what’s the best way to upgrade this security system to a HomeKit enabled one?
I had a hardwired security system in the house I purchased and I replaced the main panel/board with Konnected Alarm Panel Pro. All of the existing hardwired sensors (doors, windows, motion and siren) are then integrated with Home Assistant. I use Alarmo, an alarm integration for Home Assistant, to create an alarm system which is then exposed to HomeKit, also via Home Assistant.

Request for help with using an ESP8266 to control my home alarm system
another option, depending on your use case, is to replace the alarm entirely with an open source solution. Alarmo for the software side, and Konnected.io for the replacement alarm board are the first things that come to mind.

Best home security system/cameras
As a side note, Home Assistant also runs my home security system as well. I used the Konnected Alarm Panel Pro to re-use existing hardwired sensors from an older security system that was already in place. I then used the Alarmo integration for Home Assistant which basically makes setting up an alarm system a breeze.

Do not buy a Hisense TV (or at least keep them offline)
Apparently the same issue has been reported with Philips TV [1] and Fritz!Box [2] as well.

Valetudo – Cloud replacement for vacuum robots enabling local-only operation
If you provided MQTT support like plenty of IoT companies do, then any open source home automation tool can integrate! Home Assistant (https://www.home-assistant.io/) have a grading system, so a local-first implementation would give you their highest score since they also really care about privacy. https://www.home-assistant.io/blog/2016/02/12/classifying-th...
