Which would you choose?
If you have a decently modern phone you can get the smoothtrack app on your phone for $10. You can use that as an input for opentrack. I've been using that for a while, and it seems to be working well. Apparently you can also use a regular webcam in opentrack using aitrack, but I haven't personally used it so I can't vouch for how well it works.

Fugal ¢itizen - SmoothTrack Head Tracking for $10
OpenTrack plus AITrack is 100% free. If you don't have a webcam, toss in DroidCam for Android/iOS and use your smartphone.

F-18 cockpit Jitter FacetrackNoIR
run opentrack https://github.com/opentrack/opentrack/releases to get the curves and mapping and aitrack https://github.com/AIRLegend/aitrack for head tracking. 200% better for me.

Johnny Lee's Wii Remote hack to create VR displays is still the most mind-blowing tech demo ever
Someone else pointed out AItrack which makes it possible to headtrack without those LED's and whatnot.

Weekly Questions Thread 2023/01/23
If you have a webcam, there are some free options like opentrack and aitrack. They work together and I’ve had pretty good luck with them. There are several you tube video tutorials on how to set them up. The upside (beyond being free) is that you don’t need anything mounted to your head to get them to work.

[D] Best way to package Pytorch models as a standalone application
This is CPU only but here is an example of a C++ windows application that uses the ONNX runtime. Packaging CUDA (TensorRT really) and getting it to work with ONNX should only be a little bit more work.

Head Tracking through TrackIR. Any way to get this running on the Steam Deck? More in comments.
I've been using a webcam with aitrack and opentrack―both running natively on Linux.
