Maestro: A Linux-compatible kernel in Rust
This feels like an ad; the blog post and the README feel like they were written to sound complicated and smart rather than tell the whole truth. Like, "On boot, the kernel has full access to the memory and is allowed to write where it should not (its own code, for example)"? Apart from the fact that ring 0 will always have full control, the MMU also exists. Also, the "48k" (the kernel has 34324 lines of non-comment code, the rest are in the other repos I assume) LOC are obvious when you consider code like src/syscall/mod.rs:717 is present.
To be fair, this is impressive, but its a basic monolithic kernel written for a school project, with the "twist" that it is in Rust and uses Linux syscalls.
For anyone who is interesting in more Rust UNIX-like kernels, Aero (https://github.com/Andy-Python-Programmer/aero) is farther ahead supports running quite a lot of recompiled Linux userspace, including dwm and WebKit.

There is progress in implementing the DRM subsystem (cc https://github.com/Andy-Python-Programmer/aero/blob/master/src/aero_kernel/src/drivers/drm/mod.rs) but currently it only implements a small portion of the subsystem. But yea, this was one of the blocking points.

Change from mkinitcpio to booster. It's faster and produce smaller images.

Neither, use booster.

Booster initramfs release 0.9 got ZFS support
Booster is an initramfs - a type of software that runs early during the boot process and helps to setup system, e.g. perform disk unlock, load extra drivers, setup ZFS filesystem, and so on.

You can end up without any kernel to boot if your computer crashes during a pacman update
I don't have high hopes that this will change in mkinitcpio, but perhaps you could bring it up with booster (which copied the mkinitcpio hooks and removal scripts)

This is my personal preference, but consider switching to booster.

What is your current setup? Bootloader, filesystem, partitions, etc.
initramfs: booster - TPM2 support, way faster than mkinitcpio, autodiscovering root partition

Complex Issue:
Note I'm using booster, so assuming you're using the default mkinitcpio you probably want /boot/initramfs-linux.img. Also, don't forget to modify if your ESP isn't mounted at /boot like mine.

Booster dont loads with efistub
GPT table detection has higher priority at booster code. But for some reason it does not identify your partition table as GPT. Filed a github bug for it https://github.com/anatol/booster/issues/119
