Your favorite WP theme for mobile speed?
I tried a lot of themes, in my experience GeneratePress is the fastest, unless you decide to go fully custom and go with _s (but it will be a lot of dev work).

If you've got dev chops in PHP, then Underscores is a good "starter" theme to build your theme off. It looks after a lot of the WP related stuff, letting you focus on the template/HTML/JS/CSS stuff.

I used PHP, JavaScript, and a little bit of Python. I think themes are pretty easy you should try out _s which is a theme template for WordPress and there are similar things for plugins. I learned from this youtube series which is really good -> Wordpress Plugin Developement.

How can I create a Single Post Template for a blog without paying any theme or builder for their premium features?
A free theme that I like is Understrap (https://understrap.com/). It has single post templates. You can easily customize the templates in a child theme. I believe most themes have single post templates but Understrap's php is easy to modify, along with the html and css.

I really like Understrap for a starter theme (https://understrap.com/). Using a child theme it's possible to create custom page and post templates, add widget areas, and so forth. It's free, both theme and child theme, and uses Bootstrap 4 framework.

I like using Understrap theme as my base (https://understrap.com/). The theme uses Bootstrap 4 as its framework. It's easy to change/add css to get what I want. Creating custom page templates is easy. Adding widget areas is easy. Modifying or adding to the php code isn't hard. The theme is free as is the child theme.
