Playit.gg is down
As playit.gg is down, i dont have alternatives. localtonet its expensive and their quote is 1 gigabyte. i tried ngrok and didnt work. So, the servers are completly offline.
playit.gg is a program that allows you host servers safetly (not ip logging users with their actual ips).
-
want to add your server in my revival? well you can do it
playit.gg is a trojan
Requirements: A permament ip, domain (playit.gg is recommended and hides your ip of logging), the server port (if you use playit.gg). you will be able to enjoy to play any server!
-
Can't seem to port forward
last ditch effort, run playit.gg or ngrok and run it that way. A small server for friends doesnt have to be that ballin
Playit all the way dude. playit has support for UDP tunnels, I ran alot of my plugins through that. Normally I used ngrok for the actual server, another playit.gg TCP IP for backup, and UDP for any plugins or mods.

Networking Issues
Basically I'm having networking issues with my server. I'm using GoDaddy for a domain, and did something with the IP of the server, but I'm not sure if I use my public IP or the computer's IPv4 address. I've gotten to the point where I'm able to connect to it locally, but I want my friends to join it from across, like most servers. I've logged into my router and did something with port-forwarding, but again I'm not sure if I did it correctly. I've heard of the tool playit.gg, but have not given it a try yet. It will most likely be my last resort if I can't get this resolved. So far I've been checking https://canyouseeme.org to see if the port is available, but all it says for me and others is "Connection Timed Out". I've also did something with the firewall settings and enabled any connection with the port 25565, since that is Minecraft's default. Any help is appreciated.
For playit.gg, I found out that I cannot use my domain without paying a monthly fee, I'm cheap lol. I've found that using my public IP (IPv4 in ipconfig) on GoDaddy works. I've done a port forward on my router with the following:
-
How can I can access my Nextcloud remotely?
Aren't the first 2 stuff I would have to pay for? Cloudflare tunneling would also expose my traffic to the world, as I have worked with tunnels before (playit.gg tunnels to be exact)
-
A free tool to make your server public without port forwarding
All good, happy to answer. I've been working on playit.gg for over 2 years now, and full time for 1 year. I've been building software professionally for over a decade now and like to think I'm pretty good at it. Right now playit.gg is run by just myself but hopefully as we grow and make money I can afford to bring on some assistance.
