you can use YANBF to install them as 3DS software instead of DSiWare, just note that there's a limit of 300 total icons.
  • I'm totally stuck, 3ds wont turn on with sd card (Luma3ds)

if you download the rom to an NDS game, you need/can only use it in Twilight Menu. Twilight Menu is a bit slow on loading times, but it also has a bunch of emulators packed into it, allowing you to play the rom files of games from any console/device that it recognizes, provided the file's in the right folder. if you want to have an NDS game show up on your home menu, you can use an app called NDSForwarder. it allows you to make up to 40 forwards/shortcuts of any NDS roms you have in your sd card. if you want more than 40, you'll hae to use this https://github.com/YANBForwarder/YANBF . it took me a day or three to figure out, so just ask for help if needed, but it does have instructions for use.
  • nds Forwarder with widescreen support?
    3 projects | /r/3dspiracy | 22 Feb 2023
I'm trying to find software to create an nds forward that has support for a widescreen patch. I have tried both YANBForwarder and NDSForwarder, both of which say they have widescreen support, but after following the listed instructions and installing their respective widescreen patches, I got nothing. Are there any troubleshooting steps I can take? Is there another software I could try?

I used Yet Another NDS Bootstrap Forwarder on my PC to make home-screen-installable forwarders. Although it shares file structure with twilight menu, twilight menu is not strictly necessary.

Forwarders are also a nice way to play nds games directly from the home menu like native apps

In my experience, the best way to cheat in Pokemon is using save editors rather than codes. For hacked 3DS, PKSM is the way to go. For hacked DSi, Pokemon Chest. Both are about the same thing: a combination of Pokemon Bank without needing to connect to the internet, moving pokes between generations, and a savegame editor that can create and edit Pokemon as well as some other stuff in your save. PKSM is the better app since it supports generations 1-7 on 3DS, but Chest runs on a DSi and handles generations 3-5.

You can find out how to install CFW here and get PKSM here. The guide will also have you install Checkpoint which can backup 3DS and DS save files. Cartridges will always show up in the top left corner in Checkpoint though you sometimes have to wait like 20 seconds before they appear for some reason. The save files it backs up go in /3ds/Checkpoint on your SD. If you want to use PkHex to export your Pokemon to files so you can trade them with someone via a chat app, backup, extract what you want to trade, get other ones in exchange, and import them. Then put the save file back and restore it with Checkpoint.

    1. Load the game and save first. Doesn’t work without a save file. 2. get ahold of your Title ID by going to FBI → Titles → take a picture of your relevant Title ID for the game you need. 3. in PKSM, go to settings (hit X) and go to Misc → Title ID’s 4. input your title ID for your specific game from step 1 5. Once you’ve inputted the number and hit ok, you can just keep hitting B. You’ll see the game on the VC list and access it like the other games. In case you’re wondering how to homebrew, here’s the guide. When you’ve homebrewed, you can scan the QR code at this link with your 3DS from the ‘FBI’ app (a file manager you’ll install as part of the homebrew process) and it’ll install the program!
