Looking at the github for ManyMC:

if you use ManyMC you can change the icon for each instance and that's what shows up in the dock and u can install mods directly from the interface from curseforge and some others

Hi, I had this same issue for a while! For me, I fixed this via downloading and using a m1 version of MultiMC called ManyMC https://github.com/MinecraftMachina/ManyMC

Use ManyMC, it'll do all the patching and other workarounds for you :)

I would recommend ManyMC if you're having trouble. It allows for downloading premade packs or creating your own.

I use ManyMC, it’s a form of MultiMC that runs most Minecraft versions natively. I highly recommend it for both Forge and vanilla.

i would highly recommend ManyMC, since it automatically patches in M1 support. I’ve been using it for months and it works flawlessly.
