UPMetroSkin VS SteamFriendsPatcher

Sadly it's part of "Steam going Backwards" program that Steam retired https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Steam_Skins which https://github.com/redsigma/UPMetroSkin used to use Steam Skin with an OPTION you seek for to remove Big Picture Button from where you pointed out but now it's gone with lots of other good features as of the August "backwards" UI update.

Yeah, it was. That's why I use Metro for Steam (aka MetroUI) with the unofficial patch (still actively maintained and updated).

From what I could see, the new interface is created in the same way as the new STEAM library, which means that it is created with html, css.etc. and like this, if we execute in STEAM with the -dev parameter in its exe, it allows us to open the chrome inspector (it is the engine that steam uses). This is good news because as you know the steam library is modifiable with a patch called SteamFriendsPatcher from PhantomGamers allows us to modify the css and change the style of the library and that patch will probably also work for this interface since the build is the same

so i just saw this video from tyler mcvicker and i have already known how to customize the steam client but found it ugly because of inconsitincys, well i found out that you can change the library to match the og steam skin, my question is how would i run the SteamFriendsPatcher.exe to patch my steam i tried running it via wine program launcher, but it dosent load up even if it did, would'nt it not know where my steam is located since it running off the wines c: drive? is this just not possible on linux ? what would i need to do to set this up, lol i would love to have this as im only 2000 steam points away from getting the HLalyx profile pack(it turns yous steam profile green)

Funny thing, you "Can" do this right now with a little bit knowledge of CSS. The Top part (that says magasin etc.) is part of Steam Skin part that you can examine https://metroforsteam.com/ readable Code to modify CSS to your liking. The Main part (anything except top) is the Steam New Library that un-modifiable unless you apply https://github.com/PhantomGamers/SteamFriendsPatcher on it.

Your concept looks like a for me, guaranteed to make you uncomfortable. Besides you can do that right now if you know CSS and use https://github.com/PhantomGamers/SteamFriendsPatcher on your Library.

This will only work for the old parts of the client, use SteamFriendsPatcher to skin the new web-based parts of the UI.
