I want to learn how to data mine games I enjoy, such as Animal Jam Classic, but I’m not sure where to start.
If you're lucky, the developers will have used a standard format to store their assets and you can just use an existing asset extractor to do the dirty work for you: Unreal, Unity, and Flash (.swf) are some of the most popular ones.

Does anyone know how to extract texture files from Infinite?

3D models
There are posts about getting models somewhat on the regular, any amount of searching nets you the answer, ironically some of them by me. Get umodel and simply overwrite the auto game detection to smite and point the game path to wherever you have smite installed "SMITE\BattleGame\CookedPCConsole". From there just select whichever gods files you are looking for, beware that the upks only contain a extremely low quality dummy texture.

To assist you in extracting Unreal Engine files, you can use the Unreal Extraction Tool developed by Gildor: Unreal Extraction Tool.

Anyone have experience with data mining/ripping files?

Where can I found Smite assets ?
You gonna have to extract them yourself with umodel. Open the program, select to overwrite game detection setting the engine to unreal 3 and smite from the game list. The game file path is the CookedPCConsole folder wherever you have smite installed. (example F:\SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\SMITE\BattleGame\CookedPCConsole)

FAQ
I extract models and textures from Deadbydaylight and Deep Rock Galatic using UE Viewer and import them using this Add-on.

Grunt Killer
I extract the models from the game with UE Viewer, and use this add-on to import them into Blender. The Textures for the most part (the tattoos are also extracted and for some materials like the skin I just use shaders) are painted and UV edited by me.

Here's a script for importing Deus Ex level textures into Blender
1: You must already have the DX1 textures in a loose file format recognized by Blender (.png, .dds, .tga, ect.). They need to otherwise retain their original names. The textures can be acquired via UModel/UE Viewer. New Vision textures will work also.

Is there any cheat/invincibility method that actually works?
oh I have to add that some files need an older version of this editor. It varies but most of the time I use the newest version or 2.3.10 which you can get here.

How to start modding?
Yeah, there are no official tools besides Unreal itself I guess. And adding new areas is not possible now. But you can do some things, so if you'd like to try your hand at it, get kaiheilos's asset editor - https://github.com/kaiheilos/Utilities. Just the exe, the other stuff is for a different game. There's a guide here for modding not just TOW but other Unreal games - Unreal Engine 4 Modding. It doesn't say but when you use the asset editor, use the drop down to change the version to 4.21. That's the version TOW uses. I made a couple tutorials myself on youtube - one for editing weapon level. I've found a lot of useful info myself in the discord servers for modding various Unreal games, especially the SOD2 modding server.

Hoping that there will be Modding support for The Outer Worlds 2
Basically, I am using Asset Editor which edits files from Unreal 4 games - https://github.com/kaiheilos/Utilities I have a short tutorial on how to edit a weapon file using the editor here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pU7-p1s7ZIk. I also have a discord channel for TOW modding which has some other tutorials - https://discord.gg/cFaUJqjyQU

SDD suddenly has zero bytes free
I used both of these software's, the one that unpacks is this: https://github.com/kaiheilos/Utilities and this one I think is to view the assets: https://www.gildor.org/en/projects/umodel A discord gave the links, its for modding Days Gone.
