The readme has been updated indicating which additional packages you need to install for additional audio drivers, as well as information for using SDL2 for input. how do you emulate N64?
Depending on how powerful your PC is, you might want to go for a more accurate or more performant emulator. For accurate emulators, ares or simple64 are good choices. For performant emulators, RMG or Project64 are good choices.

What’s the best way to play retro games without the need to buy the consoles?
Get a PC that isn't shit and try simple64 or ares. People with no technical knowledge assume that N64 games should be able to run perfectly on cheap SBCs, but the fact of the matter is that recreating the behavior an entire console in software takes more processing power than you think and is often required for high compatibility.
