Any suggestions for a new media player name?
Whatever you name it, try to make the UI look like Tauon Music Box. I love that application but its built on GTK3 I believe.

There seems to be no Linux music player that supports reading and writing to the POPM rating tag, and making smart playlists based on both those ratings and other playlists. Or, "I really freaking miss MusicBee, man"
Finding music players that support any kind of rating is already difficult, since many devs ignore or straight up hate this feature entirely, and the most commonly used Popularimeter (POPM) standard in ID3 tags is apparently not always consistent.

Tauon Music Box v7.1.1 released
This isn't a major release, but its been a year since I posted this here on r/linux and there's been many releases in that time. You can check version release notes here: https://github.com/Taiko2k/TauonMusicBox/releases.

New here and loving it. I have some questions and recommendations

Spotify integration with selfhosted music streaming service
TauonMusicBox supports Jellyfin and Spotify if I recall correctly.

Tauon Music Box v6.5.0 released
The only documentation on connecting to Jellyfin I have is this page. Its a little vague but if you have setup a Jellyfin server it should be obvious what information needs to be entered.

Deezer vs Spotify after the rebrand?
Some of the UI changes I find hard to adjust to, but that alone is not a good reason. The lack of Linux support is something I'll never understand, considering they made the Windows app using a framework that is cross-platform by default. I feel like Deezer just doesn't want to bother testing it on Linux. The unofficial community port of the app works just fine though.

Gnome Web 42.4 FLAC Audio support
I'm using fedora too and i've installed this client https://github.com/aunetx/deezer-linux/releases/tag/v5.30.220-2. It's chromium so FLAC should work as intended

Progressive Web App (PWA) for Deezer
However, if you wish you had native experience on Linux, check https://github.com/aunetx/deezer-linux. I have been using it on Ubuntu for a couple of months, and it 100% integrates with the OS; it's not a web app running inside a single-use web browser.

Help installing snap package
How about this? A Linux port of the Windows desktop app here. Download the deb package, right-click in the files app and install directly into your Linux container. A launch icon is placed in the Linux apps folder. Alternatively, download the appimage to your Linux files folder, make it executable in Terminal with sudo chmod +x file.appimage then run it from Terminal by entering ./file.appimage. Both appear to work in my container (Debian Bullseye in Chrome OS 97 stable channel).
- make the desktop app close on close?
- Flatpak/Snap/App Image along with .deb/.rpm install for Deezer Linux! Thank aunetx for creating it!
