TauonMusicBox VS YTMusicUploader

Whatever you name it, try to make the UI look like Tauon Music Box. I love that application but its built on GTK3 I believe.

Finding music players that support any kind of rating is already difficult, since many devs ignore or straight up hate this feature entirely, and the most commonly used Popularimeter (POPM) standard in ID3 tags is apparently not always consistent.

TauonMusicBox supports Jellyfin and Spotify if I recall correctly.

The only documentation on connecting to Jellyfin I have is this page. Its a little vague but if you have setup a Jellyfin server it should be obvious what information needs to be entered.

I used Google Play Music, then YT Music, primarily to upload my own files to listen to on my phone without keeping everything saved to my phone. I've been using the now defunct automatic uploader (https://github.com/jamesbrindle/YTMusicUploader) but now that it doesn't work I will have to manually upload everything.

Having troubles transfering from Google Play Music to YouTube Music? In the email I received from Google Play Music, I clicked the link "Transfer To YouTube Music". It took me to a browser page that said "Transfer Complete" but NOTHING from my collect moved over. I clicked "Transfer Again" and I got a new screen that said "Transferring your library may take a few hours". This seemed plausable to me as my collection is over 8k songs and took over a day to upload originally to GPM. I decided to give it some time. Nothing at all appeared. I did not have the option in YTM of an "Uploads" option. This is because nothing had been transfered. Fixed my problem: I found this handy piece of work on GitHub - https://github.com/jamesbrindle/YTMusicUploader All the info on how it works is there. Just open the program, authenticate with YTM, choose your Watch Folder(s) and, if you like, it will run with Windows and auto upload any new files saved locally to YTM. I'm currently uploading my entire collection. I hope this helps someone else's frustration/difficulty in not being able to upload an entire directory through the Upload Music opton in YTM. :)
