Latest Pyfa update
I've encountered it myself for my own public FOSS programs, even the same Wacatac trojan claimed for a .Net app rather than Python. That time the older version of the public updates-checking library was depreciated into flagging as likely suspect, while the latest fixed it. Defender is dumb in this regard.

TABSAT not working for me
Latest version available at: https://github.com/DaneelTrevize/TABSAT/releases TABSAT Log: 2023/04/04 14.49.16.311 - You are running the latest released version, TABSAT v1.4.2 2023/04/04 14.49.26.326 - Extracted save file: C:\Users\Baba\Documents\My Games\They Are Billions\Saves\shock.zxsav 2023/04/04 14.49.26.412 - Error while extracting or modifying the save: System.IndexOutOfRangeException: Index was outside the bounds of the array. at TABSAT.SaveReader.generateNavigableData(Int32 res) at TABSAT.SaveReader.getLayerData(MapLayers layer) at TABSAT.SaveReader..ctor(String filesPath) at TABSAT.SaveEditor..ctor(String filesPath) at TABSAT.ModifyManager.getSaveEditor() at TABSAT.ModifyManagerControls.modifyExtractedSave() at TABSAT.ModifyManagerControls.modifySave_DoWork(Object sender, DoWorkEventArgs e) at System.ComponentModel.BackgroundWorker.OnDoWork(DoWorkEventArgs e) at System.ComponentModel.BackgroundWorker.WorkerThreadStart(Object argument)
Ok that helps narrow down a lot of what Defender might be interrupting, thanks. I have it here and it's no longer an issue for me, previously it flagged the main exe as an Android trojan but the latest build uses updated dependancies which seems to have resolved that. Maybe I have some remnant of whitelisting the app but I have been through many locally-generate dev builds without issue.
The grand diff should be here, at a first skim through perhaps the temp file directory and random name is the crux of it. I'll have to study it more over the weekend.
Try this 1.4.2 build.
Version 1.4.1. Launched to the expected "Before using TABSAT" tab fine. Launched TAB, started a new Skirmish game. Immediately Saved & Exited that game to generate a save file and returned to the main game menu. Went to the "Modify Save Files" tab in TABSAT, checked Grant Full Map Vision, clicked the Quick Modify button and the expected game popup and output logs flash by. The bottom line in the interface shows a new save file was created, when and where. Back in TAB, I choose to continue a game, select the matching name of the now-modified save, load in and see I have full map vision.

Mod's, still exists?
I also made TABSAT, which you can use to modify generated Survival maps to change the gameplay.

They Are Billions 2 ???
FWIW, TABSAT allows you to tweak several starting conditions, and swap map themes post-generation. And ModdedMayors currently hosts the latest password needed to extract and repack the rules data file for the game.

TABSAT (a TAB Save Modifying & Backup Tool) version 1.5 is released
TABSAT was started while the anti-mods TAB devs were still active, and its approach is to manipulate the save files as & when they are generated by the game, to make it harder for the devs to stop such works. More recently, there have been FOSS efforts to read and manipulate game state while playing, to add a few new keybindings and features without involving save files, or global data file changes as ModdedMayors does.

Mod's, still exists?
Modded Mayors. I didn't create the balance, just got it working again, and make available the info and tools needed for others to create their own rebalances.
