SweetFX VS openvr_fsr

Download all the shaders/textures from the ReShade and SweetFX repositories. Merge them, you should have a single Shaders folder with all shaders and a single Textures folder with all textures.

For Vulkan games (also D3D through the use of DXVK/VKD3D) you can use vkBasalt to change not only contrast, but improve the image in many ways through the use of ReShade shaders. To increase contrast, you can use the Curves.fx shader from SweetFX. I also like DPX.fx from that repository, it allows you to increase contrast but also make the image warmer and more vivid. Tonemap.fx is great if you want to change gamma, exposure, saturation, I highly recommend it.

I've tested the sharpening filters quite a lot in the past few weeks, the Filmic Anamorphic Sharpen to my eyes is too sharp, it seems to add some kind of whiteness around objects, CAS is fine, but it doesn't sharpen much with default settings, DELC seems to be the best with its default settings.

For anyone playing on PC with this mod, be sure to try out openvr_fsr for upscaling (https://github.com/fholger/openvr_fsr). Made a huge difference in framerate compared to my first playthrough.

• Install performance enhancing mods, like VRperfkit and OpenVR FSR. There are tutorials on YouTube for both of them, though OpenVR FSR is much easier as it has a menu list with games.

Hello, I did some research and found vrperfkit and openvr_fsr, so far Im trying openvr_fsr first but Im not sure how to get it to work, I have both files in the DCS bin folder and now the confusing part is, do I need to open the OculusVR software or SteamVR? Or both?

The second option is fholger's OpenVR_FSR mod which will reduce your native render resolution (configurable) and then use either AMD's FSR or Nvidia's NIS to upscale the resulting image. I've found that it's cheap foveated rendering implementation can help too, even if you're keeping your render resolution at or near 100%. It can do a lot more than just upscaling.

If needed, the openvr_fsr mod can add a bunch of fps with little sacrifice in quality. Works great in DCS and IL2 with my VP2/3090.
