The number of mentions indicates the total number of mentions that we've tracked plus the number of user suggested alternatives.

If you want really satisfying achievement notifications you can use SteamAchievementNotifier, you can set it up how you like and have tons of resources on Discord.

Apparently, Steam has an Achievement Sound in Beta right now, and Achievement Tracking.

What's with the hate towards steam achievements?
I used to hate achievement hunting, it was a lot of hunt for 100 of X or other mundane "challenges". But lately there's been a lot of good ones lately, and been finding now that trying to "100%" I use that loosely because 100% a game and 100% achievements are not the same thing, is very rewarding. Pro tip though, steam achievement notifications are terrible, luckily the community developed Steam Achievement Notifier and I highly recommend it to give you that extra flair and QOL like automatic screen shots and what not.

Steam achivement notification app
Not sure if a lot of people have seen this but my mate found this yesterday. It allows you to get proper notifications (similar to the consoles) for achievements. I didnt make the app but I'd highly recommend. You just need to grab your own sound files. The app also does custom sounds for.rare achievements too so we can all get our endorphin rush!

I used to be an Xbox player, and the little notification with sound and gamerscore when getting an achievement was great. Is there some sort of addon to make steam achievements less sucky? They are very underwhelming.
