[QUESTION] Open source Alternative to slide for iOS?
You mean like this one?
-
Congrats reddit. The state of the app is making me go a non official one.
Slide (iOS): https://github.com/Haptic-Apps/Slide-iOS (DL: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/slide-for-reddit/id1260626828) While it has the same name as Slide for Android, and has the same development team behind it, it is a very different client. It shares the same feature set, but is much more elegant, and I think it just flat out looks better than its Android version. Still prefer beam, but that was discontinued. This client is once again, open source.

The future of troddit
As I mentioned earlier, troddit, the open source project will remain free. Reddit has clarified there will still be a free tier for their API so anyone will be able to setup Troddit on their own computer or server and still get some use. I will be updating the Docker instances to make this easier.

Teddit – An alternative Reddit front-end focused on privacy
There's also troddit.com, which has logins.

Is TikTok spyware?
Hence why I said browse. If you want to post, just use reddit through a hardened browser (i think old.reddit.com works without JS). I recently heard of Troddit. Its a web/PWA front-end that allows signing in, but IDK if it is any good privacy-wise.

What's up with the new reddit video player drama?
I would recommend using a third party mobile client. Maybe even a third party desktop client like Giara (GTK) - Linux. Along with desktop clients, there are some very good web clients. Troddit is a very elegant looking online client, that supports accounts, and comments! Teddit is meant to mimic old reddit. It doesn't support accounts or adding comments as far as I can see. Libreddit {or libre reddit} is a very nice front end, written in rust. Reditr - Web, Windows, Linux, Mac, Chrome(ium) is a partial web client, working in your web browser, but also has a native Windows, Linux and Mac version, and also a Chrome extension.

Congrats reddit. The state of the app is making me go a non official one.
yeah, libreddit is awesome. however, you can't comment on it, so if thats important to you, i might consider using troddit instead. note that if you use firefox, you might have to disable enhanced tracking protection for the site if you use "Strict" as firefox will attempt to block reddit.com from troddit.com
