A group of open source Android apps without ads and unnecessary permissions
Warning, the reaction to massive security issues in a bundled PDF reader of the file manager made me uninstall all of these apps. Safety of my device and data is paramount.
https://github.com/SimpleMobileTools/Simple-File-Manager/iss...
https://github.com/SimpleMobileTools/Simple-File-Manager/iss... where the developer shows no grasp of security "what can happen to an app without internet access?"
A "simple" file manager should not come with a PDF reader.

Simple File Manager vulnerability
Fdroid app has a notification in the updates section for a vulnerability in Simple File Manager Pro with a recommendation to uninstall. The only thing I have found through a web search was a github post back from December Any of you know what it may be?

FOSS apps that you use?
I would stay clear of anything released by simple mobile tools for 2 reasons. Reason 1. They deceptively added a unannounced "free trial" and effectively force you to pay for the app unexpectedly or switch calendars and 2. The developer addimently refused to update the apps libraries, despite those libraries containing known vulnerabilities, until f-droid and the community pressured them into updating. https://github.com/SimpleMobileTools/Simple-File-Manager/issues/656

F-Droid: List Of The Best Apps!
I'm cautious about recommending the "Simple" suite of apps as well, after the whole Simple File Manager fiasco. There was a vulnerability in the app's PDF viewer, to which the developer responded saying "I don't understand those geeky things there", then months later denied the vulnerability existing. I believe that the vulnerability was fixed, but this is definitely not a great look for the developer, and made me lose trust and confidence in them. I prefer Aves Libre over Simple Gallery anyways, has a nicer, more modern, UI and features imo.

Simple File manager Pro has some Security threat.
I was reading https://github.com/SimpleMobileTools/Simple-File-Manager/issues/619 and it really looks like people are over reacting and he handles the pressure very well that some people want to push upon him. And the problem was even solved in last weeks commit.

A structured note-taking app for personal use
Just curious, any reason you're using TMarkor instead of Markor? (https://github.com/gsantner/markor/ , https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.gsantner.m...)
Only asking since this was also the editor I ended up settling on in Android, but it seems like TMarkor is just a repackaging of Markor without any references to its forked(?) source.
My requirement was that the repo had to be open source so that I could audit the repo and compile the APK from source, as well as potentially fork it for personal modifications if needed.

Ask HN: Why don’t GitHub readme pages include screenshots?
As other commenters posted, maintaining screenshots is a pain. Especially with software that's regularly changing.
That said, there are more than a few GitHub readmes that contain screens. Sometimes quite a few screens. Here's an example: https://github.com/gsantner/markor

2023 edition: solid ways to have your org setup/plan file in your pocket? (lots of dead ends online)
Use Markor as my org-roam Set up my notes directory as my "home" directory, and set up some templates for creating new files, and set some timestamp formats to match org's. Also has a recursive text search that's good enough for my uses.

There are web based VSCode you can run. Or if you push to Github that with give you a good read and a ok write experience. I treat mobile as a read only so I use Markor.
