The number of mentions indicates the total number of mentions that we've tracked plus the number of user suggested alternatives.
Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

External tools to design production chains?
My fork was the first Github one which is 90% work from another developer: https://github.com/Rybadour/Foreman

Is there an Angels+bobs/Seablock calculator akin to something like kirkmacdonald for vanilla?
Currently I am stuck in VS creating my own version of the foreman app in order to get it working 100% with seablock (or any mod configuration) and factorio 1.1+.

Bob's & Angel's: For which metals do people typically have direct refining?
Also do I understand correctly that you are not the original author of https://github.com/Rybadour/Foreman? If you're doing significant changes, you might want to sync with the original author (or fork :P) and start committing things in smaller chunks.
Do you mean https://github.com/Rybadour/Foreman? Wow, I haven't seen it before, but I have been thinking of something like that for a long time! I've been using Omnigraffle to manually massage a graph built from extracted recipes, but it's a very crude solution. I dream that one day somebody will build a graphical helmod, with a full graph structure support and flexible enough to help one conquer the complexity of a mod like seablock...

I'M SORRY WHAT THE FUCK???? (Pyanodon recipe for simplest circuit board!)
Foreman 2. It makes flow diagrams which also calculate everything for you. By far the easiest way to set up massive production chains in large modpacks.
- I don't see the maths behind using Crystal Slurry to Mineral Sludge early.
- Finally, after 20 hours of work, I present the flowchart for Pyanodon Space Science! (Low quality because reddit wouldn't let me upload the full png)
- I am having a hard time reading and understanding the ratios on the factorio cheat sheet. Red science makes sense, I need to make 1 gear/s to supply 10 red science assemblers. But beyond that I don't understand.

I am baffled and need assistance, explanation in comments :)
If you get into mods, esspecially ones with loops, something like YAFC or Foreman 2 is much better.

I spent some time helping to fix up this tool for Factorio: https://github.com/DanielKote/Foreman2

Best Factorio mods 2022
And for large circular recipe chains I use Foreman, which handles those significantly better than helmod/FP, because there is much more calculation power available outside of the limited game engine.
You could add outside planners too, especially YAFC and Foreman are outstanding.
- Factory planer, Helmod, or something else?

Show HN: Factorio Blueprint Visualizer
Foreman 2.0 https://github.com/DanielKote/Foreman2 is robust Factorio diagramming app. It's capable of creating rather large diagrams, such as this [1] one of an entire Seablock factory.
Another one I like to use for quick diagramming is Factorio Lab [2], which is a web app.

What are some alternatives?
When comparing Foreman and Foreman2 you can also consider the following projects:
FactoryPlanner - A mod for Factorio. It allows you to plan out your production in detail.
factorio-blueprint-visualizer - A python library to artfully visualize Factorio Blueprints and an interactive web demo for using it.
factoriolab - Angular-based calculator for factory games like Factorio and Dyson Sphere Program
SeaBlock - Factorio mod pack Sea Block
Sidekick - The main repository for the Sidekick project, a companion trade tool for Path of Exile.
yafc - Powerful Factorio calculator/analyser that works with mods
