What's the current state of GPU compute in rust?
I think at the moment the I would use https://github.com/bheisler/RustaCUDA/ and C/C++ `.cu` files with `extern "C"` to call from Rust. Even though there are experiments to have nvptx as a compilation target for Rust.

State of CUDA on Rust in the beginning of 2021 ?
Once you have a compiled kernel (in Rust or CUDA C), RustaCUDA provides basic bindings to load and execute it. I haven't been maintaining or extending it for a while now since I haven't been doing GPGPU stuff, but it should still work, at least for the parts of the API that it exposes.

Using CUDA from Rust?
Still Ash or Erupt. Erupt exploits builder pattern more often than ash which saves you from annoying bugs 'temporary variable have been dropped, but only in release mode' like this https://github.com/pudnax/pilka/commit/2860f3d538a1b16e4ce64c7b589feae320ddc750 .

I'm trying to capture sound from the microphone using cpal and apply FFT on it. The reason is I want to pass sound into shader as 1D texture. pilka
