Are there any advantages to using the official Reddit app instead of something like RedReader?

Nope. The developer previously mentioned not wanting to do that because it could be confusing to the user. Feel free to submit a feature request for it if you feel strongly enough.

Nope. There is a 3 year old request for a card view which might be able to show more post information like the first line. Feel free to give that a thumbs up.

That is unfortunate; I've taken a look at XDA and there seems to be no third-party distros available for your tablet that is based on at least Android 5.0 -- the minimum OS requirement for Hentoid.
